He is currently serving as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology and the Wiley Transactions on Emerging Telecommunications Technologies. He is also a Guest Editor for EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking and IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Signal Processing- Special Issue on Exploiting interference towards Energy Efficient and Secure Wireless Communications. Dr. I. Krikidis is an Exemplary Reviewer of IEEE Communications Letters and IEEE Wireless Communications Letters for 2012. Dr. Ioannis Krikidis received the Research Award Young Researcher 2013 from Research Promotion Foundation. He was awarded the IEEE ComSoc Best Young Professional Academia Award 2016 [In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the academia in terms of innovative communications research and IEEE ComSoc services, especially in the area of wireless communications].
He has been recognized by Thomson Reuters as an ISI Highly Cited Researcher 2017 & 2018. He also received the 2018 Best Paper Award from IEEE ComSoc Green Communications & Computing Technical Committee.
