Jörg-Peter Elbers

Jörg-Peter Elbers (M’01) received the Diploma and Dr.-Ing. degrees in electrical engineering from Technical University Dortmund, Germany, in 1996 and 2000, respectively. From 1999 to 2001, he was with Siemens AG, where he was the Director of network architecture with the Optical Networks Business Unit. Afterwards, he was the Director of technology with the Optical Product Unit, Ericsson. In 2007, he joined ADVA Optical Networking, where he is currently a Senior Vice President of advanced technology, standards, and IPR. He has authored or co-authored over 100 technical presentations and three book chapters, and holds 15 patents. He is the Head of the German VDE ITG Expert Committee on communication technologies. He serves on the board for the European Technology Platforms on Photonics and Networks.
