个人简介
James Cronin, PhD, MATLHE, MA, BA (Hons) (NUI, Cork), PGDip Broadcast Journalism (UCLan), Honorary Research Fellow (UCL) is College Lecturer in Teaching & Learning Enhancement. James is a recipient of the President's Award for Excellence in Teaching and Learning in 2018 and twice recipient of the President's Award for Research on Innovative Forms of Teaching & Learning: first in 2004 for developing learning resources for the newly-established History of Art in UCC and again in 2018 for a learning community partnership between prison educators and University College Cork.
James is a graduate of UCC and UCLan, Preston, Lancashire. His doctoral studies in History focused on the pacifist writings of Thomas Merton (1915-68). His Masters in History examined visual iconography from late Antiquity to the early medieval West. His Masters in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education focused on the phenomenology of silence and slow time in the teaching and learning of art history in adult education.
Research interests:
1. A wide interest in cultural history and visual iconography.
2. Disciplinary formation and identity in the Arts & Humanities.
3. "Slow looking" in Arts practices and processes.
