个人简介
She directs a program of research focused on cognitive and behavioral mechanisms that influence the etiology of cannabis use, related problems, cannabis use disorder, and comorbidity with alcohol and affective disorders. Dr. Metrik's recent research examined cannabis’ pharmacological, cue-elicited, and neurocognitive effects in a number of domains including incentive salience, drug expectancy, impulsive and risky behaviors, and processing of affective information. Concurrent projects in Dr. Metrik’s cannabis-administration laboratory at CAAS and at the Providence VA Medical Center examine the impact of acute and chronic use of cannabis and substances in community-based samples and in veterans. Dr. Metrik has a joint appointment at the Providence VA Medical Center where she has a research program focused on co-occurring mood and substance use disorders in veterans, provides direct clinical service to veterans with substance use disorders, trains psychology post-doctoral fellows and residents in the Brown University Clinical Psychology Training Consortium, and serves as a VA national consultant and an evidence-based psychotherapy trainer in Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy for Substance Use Disorders.
