Research Interests:
My current research interests include Information Retrieval, Sentiment Analysis, and Natural Language Engineering. Pseudo-relevance Feedback and Pseudo-relevance Translation Feedback are my main focus and research field. I have been following wholeheartedly the publications of ChengXiang Zhai in Model-based Feedback especially Mixture Model Feedback and more recently Maximum Entropy Divergence Minimization as high quality and leading researches in this area. A Formal Study of Information Retrieval Heuristics proposed by Hui Fang and ChengXiang Zhai is another leading framework to study IR methods under a more theoretical point of view. I also see a wide future for Game-Theoretic Framework which has been presented by ChengXiang Zhai in SIGIR 2015.
I have recently worked on statistical models and their applications on computational linguistic and sentiment analysis. I developed an application of the statistical analysis to unsupervised learning of linguistic rules. It has been developed using an statistical analysis over a target language corpus to find a number of infix (prefix infix and postfix) rules to expand a query by its inflectional formations in Cross-language Information Retrieval. Topic modelling has been also main interest of our research group to investigate text similarities, text plagiarism, event tracking, and sentiment analysis. I am interestingly tracking the proposed methods by David Blei and his research group centring on Latent Dirichlet Allocation as a powerful topic modelling method.
I have recently been working on machine learning approaches like deep belief networks and word embeddings to construct an applicable framework for information retrieval and sentiment analysis. I mainly follow the publications of Richard Socher regarding entitled Recursive Neural Networks.
