I am an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland's iSchool. My research examines socio-technical systems, specifically focusing on the relationship between users' network composition, communication practices, and privacy attitudes and behaviors. I am most interested in understanding how people's use of communication technologies impacts their relationships with others and their ability to seek and obtain various resources from their social network. Please see my website (http://jessicavitak.com) for a more detailed overview of my work, including a list of my publications.
