I'm currently a ML Architect at Sunmi Tech (US AI Lab).

I was an HPC data analytics engineer in the DAS group led by Dr. Prabhat at NERSC (Lawrence Berkeley National Lab) from Sep. 2015 to Aug. 2019. I obtained a CS Ph.D. from Texas Tech University, with a focus on HPC and Parallel IO, under Prof. Yong Chen in 2015.
I enjoyed my undergraduate study on computer science at Jinan University, GuangDong, China, between 2007 and 2011, working on using ML to break Captcha. The paper that finally inspired and led me to US to pursue a Ph.D. was "Shape Context: A new descriptor for shape matching and object recognition", [PDF], by Serge Belongie, Jitendra Malik and Jan Puzicha.

I was born in Yantai, Shandong, China.
