My research interest are text mining on scholarly big data. I am working on projects to extract knowledge from scientific pubilcations and present them to readers. The goal is to reduce the effort to read the overwhelming research papers published in conferences and journals and present the users the most relevant information they need. I have been leading projects on multiple aspects of digital library search engines, such as web crawling, document extraction, classification, cloud computing, and big data. I have also been running CiteSeerX. I doubled the document collection, migrated the system to a private cloud, designed a new metadata extraction framework, enhanced Solr indexing, and managed MySQL databases.
