个人简介
Over the last few years I have been dedicated to the study of membrane biophysics. The study of the interaction of small biologically relevant molecules, whether endogenous or exogenous, with lipid membranes and clarify how membrane composition and organization could influence that interaction has been one of the chief topics of my investigation. I have also develop biomimetic lipid platforms using gold as substrate, which can be used to gain biophysical insights regarding membrane interactions using methodologies not commonly employed in these kind of studies, such as electrochemistry and ellipsometry or to prepare of lipid-based biosensing interfaces.
Currently, my main scientific interest is focused on studying the organization of yeast plasma membrane using state-of-the-art biophysical characterization and, with that, understand the mechanisms that might be related with the increased fungal resistance to the antifungal therapies currently employed.
