In the Editorial Board of Combustion and Flame for two terms. As of 2016, Associate Editor in the Proceedings of The Combustion Institute. Recipient of the 2012 Silver Medal award of The Combustion Institute.
In 2016 he was allotted the title PSI Research Fellow and became Scientific Leader of the Laboratory of Thermal Processes and Combustion.
As of 2020, Fellow of The Combustion Institute for "pioneering experimental and modeling research in hetero-/homogeneous and catalytic combustion".
His interests are the numerical modeling of the hetero-/homogeneous chemical processes with multidimensional CFD codes, lattice Boltzmann modeling (LBM) of reacting and nonreacting flows, experiments and modeling of turbulent combustion, and design of experiments in optically-accessible, laboratory-scale test-rigs for the validation of hetero-/homogeneous chemical reaction schemes. Other research activities include catalytic partial oxidation processes for power generation applications, modeling of Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cells (PEFCs) and design issues in commercial catalytic combustors for gas-turbines. Additional research interests are experimental non-linear optics (CARS), internal combustion engines, and solid propellant combustion.
