Joshua Vaughan

Joshua Vaughan received the B.S. degree in physics and applied mathematics from Hampden-Sydney College, Hampden Sydney, VA, in 2002, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), Atlanta, in 2004 and 2008, respectively. He is currently a Postdoctoral Research Engineer with Georgia Tech. Prior to his current appointment, he was a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Postdoctoral Fellow with the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan, working in the Hirose–Fukushima Laboratory. He was previously a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering, Georgia Tech. His current areas of research are advanced crane control, human–machine interface design, multi-input shaping control, and energy-conscious control design.
