Keith has a PhD in computer science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2007 and has done postdocs at The University of California at San Diego, and Tufts University. Throughout his career, he has used machine learning to address a series of tasks including classification, regression, information extraction, anomaly detection, and ranking; both in general settings and a variety of specific ones, including biomedical unstructured text, and gene sequence and expression data. He has designed and evaluated several novel machine learning algorithms to address these tasks, and his work has resulted in the publication of several papers and available software. Specialties: Machine learning, Data mining, Algorithm development, Statistical evaluation and comparison of predictive models.
