We are currently putting much of our effort in development of smart sampling techniques for protein analysis in biological matrixes. The concept is based on dried blood spot sampling: by chemical modification of filter paper, we can start tedious sample preparation steps (like protein digestion or mAb-based clean-up) already at the moment of sampling. This simplifies the work-flow of protein determination from DBS. Mass spectrometry coupled to (nano-)LC is an essential technique we use.
