I am a founder and Chief Algorithm Architect at eXtreme Computer Vision, a company specializing in extremely high performance and high data rate embedded computer vision processing. Prior to that, I was a Senior Research Scientist and Program Manager leading several critical computer vision and machine intelligence research and development robotics programs at GDRS (General Dynamics Robotics Systems). I lead a DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) project to create true visual intelligence on a high-performance, compact, embedded, intelligent camera. I was also a Principal Investigator and Senior Research Lead on the preeminent Army-sponsored research program on mobile ground robotics. Prior to that, I spent 14 years in the automotive industry leading and developing advanced automotive active safety systems and vehicle/powertrain control systems. I led a technical team that was awarded 10 U.S. Patents in advanced control systems. I was named MIT Technology Review Magazine 100 Top Young Innovators. I have a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in Mechanical Engineering in the control of dynamic systems.
