Environmental Engineer with about 20 years of relevant experience in Disaster Risk Reduction at national and international level, with special focus on flood risk assessment and Early Warning System (EWS). As EWS Program Director, Lauro coordinates CIMA activities on innovation, development and implementation of Early Warning System in different contexts. He manages and supervises complex international DRR projects, leveraging on solid scientific background and extensive experience in building consensus and partnership with governments to implement regional and country scale projects. He is also responsible for CIMA activities in Latin America and Caribbean. Research activity on risk assessment and Early Warning Systems.
