个人简介
Lisa Seeb is a geneticist who uses genomics to unveil the ecological structure of Pacific salmon populations. Working in partnership with her husband, Jim, she and members of the Seeb lab use gene markers to identify everything from the contributing populations in a fisheries to the origin of a particular fish. The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation originally provided seed funding to start the laboratory which now provides an important intersection between the Alaska Salmon Program and the SAFS Molecular Ecology Research Laboratory to conduct both basic and applied research. Lisa has worked to better understand the genetic mechanisms that underlie how salmon respond to environmental variability. In addition, she frequently collaborates with colleagues throughout the Pacific Rim and is working with scientists from Russia and Japan to build an ocean-wide database of salmon genetic markers.
