个人简介
I received my Biology Degree at the University of A Coruña in 2008. After graduation, I obtained a MSc Degree in Biomedicine at University of Barcelona. In 2010, I joined the Proteomics Unit of the Grupo de Investigación en Reumatología (GIR), at INIBIC, as a PhD student. In 2015, I earned my PhD “Cum Laude” in Ciencias de la Salud and received the special mention of Extraordinary Doctorate Award at UDC for my thesis entitled “Búsqueda de biomarcadores de artrosis mediante técnicas proteómicas”, focused on the search for potential biomarkers of osteoarthritis by using different proteomic technologies, based on mass spectrometry and protein arrays, . During my PhD, I performed several research stays at Centro de Investigación del Cancer (CIC) in Salamanca (Spain), and at the Royal Institute of Technology-KTH, in Stockholm (Sweden), where I learnt how to apply the most advanced protein microarrays technologies in biomedical research. That stays allowed to obtained the International Doctorate Mention. In 2016, I earned a three-year postdoctoral fellowship funded by Xunta de Galicia (IN606B- 2016/2005), which involved a stay of two years within the Affinity Proteomics Group, at the SciLifeLab-Royal Institute of technology-KTH of Stockholm, led by Professor Peter Nilsson. Since January 2020, I am recipient of a Sara Borrell fellowship (CD19/00229), funded by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII). Currently, I am the responsible for the development of strategies of personalized medicine, based on immunoassays, to validate circulating biomarkers predictive of therapeutic response, which can be useful for the selection and optimization of biological therapies in rheumatoid arthritis. I specifically lead the research in autoimmunity at GIR. I also assist on any work that involves the use of Affinity Proteomics at INIBIC. I am the author or co-author of 20 scientific publications and I have a H index (WoS) of 11. I collaborate with national research groups from ISCIII: Plataforma en Red de Recursos Biomoleculares (PRB3) and Red de Inflamación y enfermedades reumáticas (RIER). I am also a Member of the Sociedad Española de Proteomica (SeProt) and the Sociedad Española de reumatología (SER). I also collaborate as a Lecturer in Proteomics within official Master Degree Courses, at the University of A Coruña, and in other teaching programs at UDC and at University Hospital of A Coruña.
