My core competencies include protein construct design, antigenicity characterization, and structural studies using cryo-electron microscopy and X-ray crystallography.
In the Veesler lab, I work with a diverse and collaborative team of scientists and engineers to design and evaluate subunit vaccines based on the spike glycoprotein of coronavirus. I use my skills in recombinant expression, purification, binding assays, and biolayer interferometry to assess the immunogenicity and stability of the protein constructs. I also perform high-throughput cryo-EM of the subunit vaccines and the complexes between the spike glycoproteins and antibodies. My goal is to contribute to the development of effective and safe vaccines against COVID-19 and other emerging viral threats.
