Bio
I am starting my second year as an Equator PhD student and enjoying every minute of it. My research involves examining the ways people share knowledge about new or more efficient software tools and practices and developing a system architecture that supports this behaviour. The Domino architecture actively supports incremental adaptation and ongoing evolution of ubicomp systems. In effect, Domino changes system structure on the basis of the patterns of users' activity, then recommends and connects new modules using recommendations generated from usage logs in a shared ad hoc data space.
I'm also involved in the many other projects going on at Glasgow including the George Square tourist co-visiting experience, and the Seamful Game.
I enjoy PDA based development involving WiFi, GPS and mapping, and have a couple of personal projects including www.WiFiFoFum.org which has opened up a great channel for communication with other academics and developers throughout the world.
