Bio
Head of research and development in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Verisk| AI responsible for corporate R&D at Verisk Analytics including early research and proof of concept validation to helping transition the research into novel products and services in Verisk business units and on the market. A primary research focus is to create (truly) collaborative, multi-agent (humans and machines) workflows to solve difficult business problems involving efficient extraction of knowledge and information from unstructured data (images, videos, text, documents, audio & speech) and semi-structured and fully structured digital data (e.g. on graphs like social, financial, business, and computer networks).
Around 25 years of R&D experience with 15 years of customer-focused industrial R&D experience in statistical computer vision, pattern recognition, machine learning, and reasoning frameworks, image and video analytics in the areas of multi-camera security and surveillance, aerial surveillance, advanced driver assistance and intelligent traffic control; industrial inspection; and, medical image processing and patient diagnostics; with over 40 publications and 20 patents (issued/ pending).
