Marc Currie

Marc Currie (SM’06) received the B.S. degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, VA, USA, in 1992, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY, USA, in 1993 and 1999, respectively. From 1996 to 1998, he was a Frank Horton Fellow with the Laboratory for Laser Energetics, University of Rochester, where his research included the study of ultrafast processes in semiconductors and superconductors using optical methods. This research led to the first direct observation of single magnetic flux quantum pulses in superconductors. Since 1998, he has been with the Optical Sciences Division, Naval Research Laboratory, Washington, DC, USA. He has authored or coauthored more than 40 publications in refereed journals and has given more than 30 presentations at domestic and international conferences. He is the holder of four U.S. patents. His current interests include ultrafast material processes and their applications.
