Mark Hasegawa-Johnson received his S.B., S.M., and Ph.D. degrees from MIT. Since 1999 he has been on the faculty at the University of Illinois, where he is now a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Dr. Hasegawa-Johnson has developed speech technology systems for people with Cerebral Palsy, for second language learners, and for languages that have no written form. He is a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America, a Fellow of the IEEE, and a Senior Member of the ACM; currently Prof. Hasegawa-Johnson is the Treasurer of ISCA (the International Speech Communication Association), and Senior Area Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Audio, Speech and Language.
