Markus Weimer is a Scientist working in the Audience Sciences Team of Yahoo! Labs in Santa Clara, California. He works on next-generation machine learning based techniques for recommender systems and abuse detection and prevention. Markus received a PHD from the Technische Universität Darmstadt in 2009 and joined Yahoo! in the same year. During his PhD, he worked on machine learning, natural language processing and recommender systems and novel applications thereof to the educational domain. His thesis work was jointly supervised by Max Mühlhäuser and Alex Smola.
