Career Trajectory
Bio
Martijn Van Den Ende received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in earth sciences from Utrecht University, The Netherlands, in 2011 and 2013, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in fault mechanics from the High Pressure and Temperature Laboratory, Utrecht University, in 2018. In 2018, he secured a two-year fellowship at the Université Côte d’Azur to study earthquake cycles with numerical models. During this period, he expanded his research activities to seismic array processing and distributed acoustic sensing, aided by deep learning. He currently holds a post-doctoral position funded by the 3iA Côte d’Azur institute for artificial intelligence, with the aim to develop deep learning tools applied to distributed acoustic sensing, with a focus on smart city applications.
