Matthias Kreimeyer was born in Hannover, Germany, in 1976. He received the master's degree in mechanical engineering from Technical University Munich (TUM), Munich, Germany, in 2004, the Diplôme de l'Ingénieur in ingénieur généraliste from l'École Centrale Paris, Paris, France, in 2003, and the doctorate degree in engineering design from the Institute of Product Development at Technical University Munich (TUM), Munich, Germany, in 2010with a specific focus on complexity metrics in design processes. He was with MAN Truck and Bus SE, Munich, Germany, a major European manufacturer of commercial vehicles, where he was responsible for various roles toward product architecture, PLM, product strategy, and product planning. He left MAN in 2021 as a Senior Vice President and took on the role of a Full Professor of Product Development and Engineering Design with the University of Stuttgart, Stuttgart, Germany. Dr. Kreimeyer was the recipient of the FAG Innovation Award for his research in 2010.
