Bio
Maurice N. Collins received the B.Sc. degree in materials science and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in polymer science from the University of Limerick, Limerick, Ireland.
He is currently a Research Fellow with Stokes Institute, University of Limerick. He works on the key factors affecting the reliability of lead-free solder joints and the development of soldering fluxes. He lectures polymer science at the University of Limerick. He has co-authored several publications relating to the reliability of lead-free solder and the development of biomedical polymers. His current research interests include materials characterization and material structure property relationships with particular emphasis on electronic and biomaterials.
Dr. Collins is a member of the Surface Mount Technology Association International and the European Society for Biomaterials.
