Mauricio Villegas received the BS degree on Telecommunications Engineering from the Universidad Santo Tomas, Colombia, in 2004. He received the MS degree in 2008 from the Departamento de Sistemas Informaticos y Computacion of the Universidad Politecnica de Valencia (UPV), and in the same university, he is currently pursuing a PhD degree. From 2005 up to now, he has been with the Instituto Tecnologico de Informatica working on biometrics and pattern recognition projects. His research interests include pattern recognition, dimensionality reduction, image processing, biometrics, and computer vision.
