I am a researchers, inventor, educator, and entrepreneur, who enjoys conducting research and development in multidisciplinary fields at the cross section of engineering, medicine, computing, and life sciences. With a background in both electrical and biomedical engineering, over the last 25 years, I have initiated and led numerous projects involving custom integrated circuits and system design, novel medical devices, advanced research instruments, brain-machine interfaces, sensors, actuators, and assistive/rehabilitation technologies. I am also a strong proponent of teamwork and collaboration with those who have complementary expertise to solve today’s challenging problems. The common theme among many of these projects has been improving the quality of life for people with disabilities, from blindness to paralysis, which is also my passion.
