In 1998, he joined the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, Madrid, Spain, as a Scientific Guest. Since 2003, he has been the Head of the Epitaxy Laboratory of the 4th Physics Institute, and since 2005 of the Institute for Semiconductor Optics and Functional Interfaces, respectively. His research interests include red emitting vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) for ultrafast optical communication via polymer optical fibers (POF), metalorganic vapor phase epitaxy (MOVPE) growth of semiconductor nanostructures and quantum dots, Group III-Nitrides, LEDs, and laser diodes.
