Michael Masin received the master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Moscow State University of Railway Transport, Moscow, Russia, and the master’s and Ph.D. degrees in industrial engineering from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel. He is a Research Staff Member with the Systems and Internet-of-Thing Engineering Group, IBM Research—Haifa, Haifa. He has served as the Technical Lead and Principal Investigator for numerous projects, both with the government and private customers. He has published many papers in leading professional journals and conferences, filed ten IBM patents, and continues to supervise graduate students at the Technion and Tel Aviv University. His research interests focus on the development of engineer-friendly tools, applications for deterministic and stochastic combinatorial multiobjective optimization, simulation and optimization-based engineering of complex systems, and systems-of-systems design, control, scheduling, and logistics.
