School of Computer Science Fudan University
Currently, I am an associate professor at School of Computer Science, Fudan University, Shanghai, China. I obtained the PhD degree in computer science at the ICT International Doctorate School in University of Trento, Italy, March 2006. Meanwhile, I also worked as a student collaborator on machine learning at Department of Empirical Inference (headed by Prof. Bernhard Schölkopf) , Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, Tuebingen, Germany from May 2005 to March 2006. My research focuses on data science, machine learning, especially, quantitative analysis of various kinds of big data from different domains, such as remote sensing, astronomy, finance, transport, demographics, etc. by developing machine learning and data mining methods. The approaches involve financial analysis, network analysis, image analysis, text mining, data stream mining, and so on. Also, I give lectures for undergraduate and graduate students. Also, I give lectures for undergraduate and graduate students. “Pattern Recognition” (intranet only) is for undergraduate students and “Machine Learning” (Intrant only) for graduate students, respectively.
