Bio
Muriah Umoquit holds a Specialist degree in Sociology from the University of Toronto and a Master’s degree in Sociology from McMaster University. She is a qualitative researcher with experience in interviews, document analysis, systematic literature reviews and environmental scans. She has unique expertise in participant-led and researcher-led diagrammatic elicitation - a novel visual data-collection method where participants edit or create diagrams - which she is an author in the ground-breaking paper, which named this technique. Muriah has worked in market research and done for-profit program evaluations. As a researcher at Cancer Care Ontario, her work focused on knowledge transfer, value-based purchasing, and clinical accountability. As a Research Associate with Clinical Decision Making and Health Care Department at Toronto General Research Institute, in which she worked on the development and evaluation of guideline implementability tools and investigating how to optimize the reporting of qualitative research findings. She now works in the Knowledge Translation Department of Cochrane, a systematic review health journal, overseeing communications and analytics.
