Chen Nuofu: Male, born in August 1959, is the Professor and Doctoral Supervisor in North China Electric Power University. He once assumed the office of Director of Institute of Semiconductors, CAS. He enjoys the government allowance from the State Council.
Key research fields: Photovoltaic materials, solar cells, semiconductor materials and devices for the photovoltaic power generation system
Main academic achievements: He created the non-destructive quantitative determination method for the chemical ratio of single GaAs crystal and the ultrasonic erosion method for displaying the defects of single GaAs crystal. He systematically studied the relationship between the chemical ratio of semi-insulating single GaAs crystal and its growth technology, providing reliable basis for improving the chemical ratio of GaAs single crystal and the quality of single crystal. Besides, he figured out the mechanism of lattice expansion and semi-insulation property of GaAs growing through LT-MBE technology. He did research on the material property of semi-insulating GaAs single crystal growing in space and the application of microwave devices. He revealed the great influence of chemical ratio of GaAs single crystal on the uniformity, integrity, reproducible growth and universal application of single crystal. The electrical properties of low-noise field effect transistor and integrated circuit of analogue switch produced with semi-insulating GaAs single crystals growing in space excess those of same devices and circuits produced with ground materials. This is an inspiring fruit achieved in international space material research field. In recent years, he was devoted to the research of new efficient solar cells, inventing combined-type condensation modules and successfully developed efficient condensation solar cells and integrated solar cells as well as efficient condensation solar power generator units . Currently, he undertakes the 863 Key Projects of “Key Technologies for Industrialization of MW-level Solar Cells with High Power condensation Compound” (2011AA050507).
He has published more than 180 academic papers and applied for 22 invention patents among which 11 have been authorized.
