Prodromos Zanis is Professor at the Department of Meteorology and Climatology, School of Geology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). He received a degree in Physics in 1992 (AUTH), a M.Sc. in Atmospheric Sciences in 1994 from University of East Anglia, UK and a Ph.D. degree in Natural Sciences in 1999 from University of Bern, Switzerland. He worked as postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratory of Atmospheric Physics, Physics Department, AUTH from 1999 to 2003. For the period 2003-2007, he was appointed a position of research assistant at the Research Centre for Atmospheric Physics and Climatology, Academy of Athens, Greece. At 2007, he became Assistant Professor at the Department of Meteorology and Climatology, AUTH and since 2018 first grade Professor. Prodromos Zanis has more than 20 years of experience on basic and applied research on atmospheric physics and chemistry with emphasis on ozone, aerosols, air pollution, chemistry-climate interactions, regional climate change, air quality and regional climate modelling modelling. He has 86 publications in peer-reviewed scientific international journals, 89 articles in conference proceedings with more than 2000 third-party citations and an H-factor of 29. He participated in 26 European, Swiss and Greek national competitive research projects among which he served as scientific coordinator in three of them and WP leader in another two. He is currently Lead Author in chapter 6 of WGI AR6 of IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), coordinator of the Outstanding Student Poster contest at EGU in Atmospheric Sciences Division and the Director of the Department of Meteorology and Climatology, AUTH.
