Bio
Paul Brennan was born in London, UK, in 1963 and obtained a BSc(Eng) degree in 1984 and a PhD degree in 1988 in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from University College London (UCL).
After a short spell working on agile transceivers for Plessey Military Communications, he rejoined UCL as a PhD student and then Research Fellow and is now a Professor of Microwave Electronics. He has published widely in many areas, including radio frequency and microwave electronics, antennas, radar and phase-locked loops, including a textbook on the subject 'Phase-locked loops, principles and practice' (McGraw-Hill/Macmillan, 1996). His current research interests include MIMO / phased array radar imaging systems for geophysical applications, such as snow avalanches and Antarctic ice shelves, radar location systems, phased array and other antenna systems, phase-locked loops and general RF/microwave electronics.
Prof. Brennan is highly active as a consultant and is a member of the Rolls Royce Electrical, Control Systems and Electronics Advisory Board. He is a Fellow if the Institute of Engineering and Technology, Deputy Head of the Electronic & Electrical Engineering Department at UCL and Head of the Sensors, Systems and Circuits research group.
