Paul Schonfeld received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in civil engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, USA, in 1974, and the Ph.D. degree in civil engineering from The University of California at Berkeley, Berkeley, CA, USA, in 1978. Since 1993, he has been a Professor with the Department of Civil and Environment Engineering, University of Maryland, College Park, MD, USA. He has published over 200 journal articles. He is a fellow of ASCE and ITE. He served as an Editor for the Journal of Advanced Transportation and the Journal of Transportation Engineering, Part A: Systems.
