Bio
Payam Shams Ghahfarokhi (Member, IEEE) was born in Iran in 1986. He received the B.Sc. degree in electrical power engineering from Islamic Azad University, Najafabad Branch (IAUN), Najafabad, Iran, in 2010, the M.Sc. degree in electrical power engineering from Newcastle University, Newcastle upon Tyne, U.K., in 2011, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering and machines from the Tallinn University of Technology, Tallinn, Estonia, in 2019.
He is currently a Senior Researcher and a Post-Doctoral Researcher with the Department of Electrical Machines and Devices, Riga Technical University, Riga, Latvia. He also collaborates with two research groups; the Electrical Machine Group at the Tallinn University of Technology, and the CISE-Electromechatronic Systems Research Centre at the University of Beira Interior. His main research interests include developing advanced thermal management systems and power loss minimization using conventional and novel additive manufacturing approaches for electric motors for traction application purposes.
