Phillip J. Kollmeyer (Member, IEEE) received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, Madison, WI, USA, in 2006, 2011, and 2015, respectively. He is currently a Senior Principal Research Engineer with McMaster University, Hamilton, ON, Canada, where his focus is energy storage and electric drivetrain research for transportation applications. He is the Lead Engineer for the 45 member research team working on the Car of the Future Project, which is sponsored by Stellantis NV, Auburn Hills, MI, USA, and Canada’s Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC). He has also built a prototype light-duty electric truck, led the development two energy storage research laboratories, and received two awards for his teaching in the electric machines and drives area.
