In particular, Piero Malcovati was among the first in Europe to deal with Integrated Microsystems, including microsensors and interface circuits, completely realized with CMOS and BiCMOS integrated circuit compatible technologies and carried on with success over the years this research topic. Piero Malcovati participated to several national and international research projects, with contrinutions both to the scientific activity and to management and coordination. Among these, the most significant are several european projects ESPRIT (MagIC, ABACUS, IASY, BRA3SIC) and MEDEA (KEOPE, Anastasia) as well as PRIN and FIRB projects. Piero Malcovati is Associate Editor of the IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, Deputy Editor in Chief of Analog Integrated Circuits and Signal Processing, and Regional Editor Europe of the Journal of Circuits, Systems, and Computers. He has been or still is member of the Scientific Committees for several International Conferences, including ISSCC, ESSCIRC, SENSORS, ICECS, and PRIME. He is a Senior IEEE member.
