Since September 2013, Robert Leeb is scientist and biomedical engineering at the Center for Neuroprosthetics at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland and responsible for the technology transfer from the center towards its clinical partners, especially the Clinique Romande de Réadaptation (SUVA) in Sion.
Furthermore, he is senior post-doctoral researcher at the Chair in Non-Invasive Brain-Machine Interface at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland since May 2009, where he works on hybrid Brain Computer Interfaces and the transfer of BCI technology towards patient applications.
He studied at Graz University of Technology, Austria, and Sheffield Hallam University, U.K., and received the M.Sc. degree in electrical and biomedical engineering, in 2000, from Graz University of Technology.
During and after his studies he worked as a researcher for Siemens in the area of fingerprint recognition and for Philips Semiconductors in the development of high-security chip cards.
In 2008, he received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Graz University of Technology, Austria for his work about Brain-Computer Communication: The Motivation, Aim, and Impact of Virtual Feedback. His research interests include direct brain-computer communication systems, neuro-rehabilitation, biosignal processing, hybrid BCI approaches and virtual reality systems.
