Bio
My main research interests are expressive music performance, emotion in sound and music performance, sound in interaction, and sonification.
I am working as Professor of Media Technology at the Department of Media Technology and Interaction Design (MID), School of Computer Science and Communication (CSC) since November 2014, and I was Associate Professor of Media Technology in the same Department in the period January-October 2014.
Since January 2016, I am Director of Studies (Programansvarig) for the Degree Programme in Media Technology.
Prior to that, I was doing research at the department of Speech Music ands Hearing (TMH) since August 1996, thanks to a one-year TMR-Marie Curie fellowship from the European Union. In 2000 I completed a PhD in Music Acoustics at KTH, with a thesis on music performance, Virtual Virtuosity - Studies in automatic music performance.
Before coming to TMH, I was research engineer at Centro di Sonologia Computazionale (CSC) of Padova University, Italy, for 5 years.
