Bio
Salvatore Pontarelli received the master’s degree in electronic engineering from the University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy, in 1999, and the Ph.D. degree in microelectronics and telecommunications from the University of Rome “Tor Vergata,” Rome, Italy, in 2003. He participated in research projects funded by public bodies (FP7 and H2020) and private companies. He collaborated with various manufacturers of Internet network devices (Cisco, USA and Mellanox Technologies, USA). He is currently an Assistant Professor with the Department of Computer Science, Sapienza University of Rome, Rome. His main research interests are the design of high-speed hardware architectures for programmable network devices, the implementation of hash-based data structures (bloom filters and cuckoo tables), and network dataplane programmability.
