Bio
Scott Schaefer is a Professor of computer science with Texas A&M University, College Station, TX, USA. He currently serves as the Department Head and is the holder of the Lynn ’84 and Bill Crane ’83 Department Head Chair. His research interests include computer graphics, geometry processing, curve and surface representations, and barycentric coordinates. He was the recipient of the Günter Enderle Award in 2011 and an NSF CAREER Award in 2012. He has served as an Associate or Guest Editor for a number of journals and is currently an Associate Editor for Computer Aided Geometric Design and GMOD. He has served as a program co-chair for GMP 2010, SGP 2011, SMI 2012, and SPM 2015/2016 and is part of the steering committee of GMP. He received the bachelor's degree in computer science/mathematics from Trinity University, San Antonio, TX, USA, in 2000, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from Rice University, Houston, TX, USA, in 2003 and 2006, respectively.
