Some of my research interests include parallel computing on GPUs, computer vision, self-organizing models and 3D data processing. I am particularly interested in how modern graphics processors improve 3D data processing for computer vision applications as robot vision, visual surveillance and 3D scene/object reconstruction. Moreover, my thesis topic involves the acceleration of Self-Organizing networks (SOMs) on GPUs using CUDA. These are robust models for 3D representation and tracking in computer vision problems. I am also working on the design and acceleration of 3D data processing algorithms: data acquisition, feature extraction, analysis, and data fusion from multiple sensors.
