Career Trajectory
Bio
Dr Seyit Camtepe has 27 years of industrial and academic research experience in Cyber Security. He leads the Security Automation and Orchestration Theme of the Cyber Security Cooperative Research Centre. Seyit is passionate about discovering unusual solutions to challenging cybersecurity problems, focusing on Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity intersection and Applied Cryptography. He is a receiver of CSIRO's prestigious Julius Career Award (2018).
Dr Seyit Camtepe was the first to introduce design theory in cryptographic key management and developed one of the first sandboxes for dynamic Android malware analysis with his team in TU-Berlin. He was among the first to inform society about the Android malware outbreak and realize the model-to-data paradigm in computing to enable research on data in captivity. Seyit is among the inventors of Pulsar Randomness, where signals from highly magnetized rotating neutron stars are mined as publicly verifiable and shared natural randomness sources. Seyit developed a numerous of tools, reports and guidelines adapted by the national and international government, defence, or industry partners with an impact on their operations and reputations.
Other Interests
ML and Cyber Security (e.g., malware detection, control system security, SW and protocol vulnerability assessment, crypto function detection), Security of ML , Quantum ML, Malicious and Applied Cryptography, Pulsar and Quantum Randomness.
