His research is around the theoretical foundations of machine learning, optimization algorithms, abstractions of reality, and mathematical models of safety. He received several best paper awards in the top machine learning venues, as well as an ERC starting grant, and the Kaye prize for innovation and inventions. In 2016 he was listed at the 17th place in The-Marker's top 100 most influential people in Israel.
