I am the Data Architect for DiSSCo (Distributed System of Scientific Collections) -- a new pan-European research infrastructure project. We are working with European museums and natural science collections to create a data-driven research infrastructure to mobilise, unify and deliver bio - and geo-diversity information. My background is in designing, implementing, and managing various large scale and distributed mission critical systems, services, and applications. Over the past few years, I have worked with several large scale research data and computing infrastructures in Europe and in the USA. My academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science and Ph.D. in Sociology. I am also interested in the broader societal and historical aspects of data, software, and algorithm.
