He is mainly engaged in the teaching and research of the theory, calculation and monitoring of rock mass engineering fracture and instability. The research interests include: (1) rock damage and fracture theory; (2) Development and application of numerical calculation software for rock fracture and instability; (3) Research on hydraulic fracturing and multi field coupling of unconventional oil and gas and deep geothermal development; (4) Instability and fracture of tunnel and slope; (5) The simulation of rock engineering disaster and the application of microseismic monitoring technology in rock engineering; (6) Application of artificial intelligence method in geotechnical engineering; (7) Creep and long-term stability of rock mass under multi field coupling condition.
Relevant research results have developed the basic theory of rock fracture and damage, developed a 100 million degree of freedom calculation system for rock mass disaster simulation, revealed the internal mechanism of rock mass fracture under multi field coupling, and realized the microseismic monitoring data processing based on artificial intelligence method. The results have been applied to many water conservancy, hydropower, resource development and utilization projects.
He went to Hong Kong Polytechnic University twice before and after 2007 and 2008 to study the fracture mechanism of brittle materials. He presided over 5 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 1 project specially supported by the China Postdoctoral foundation and 1 general project, 1 task of the 973 project of the national key basic research and development plan, and 5 provincial and ministerial projects. Participated in 3 973 projects of the national key basic research and development plan, 1 key project of the National Natural Science Foundation, 1 major international cooperative research fund of the National Natural Science Foundation, and a number of general projects and Youth Funds of the National Natural Science Foundation. It has won one special prize, three first prizes and two second prizes of provincial and ministerial science and technology awards. More than 100 papers have been published in the conference proceedings of academic journals at home and abroad, more than 30 in SCI and more than 80 in EI.
