Bio
Hi! I am Sid [s-ih-d]. I am a final year PhD student at the Language Technologies Institute of School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. I am fortunate to be advised by Dr. Florian Metze (now at Facebook), Dr. Alan W Black and Dr. Shinji Watanabe.
Broadly, I'm interested in making sequence models amenable to resource constrained scenarios (both data and compute).
I aim to make it possible by exploiting the principles of compositionality in system building, like task-simplification, reusability, transferability, and data-pooling, into sequence models used for various speech and language tasks.
Previously, I worked at the MULTISPEECH team in INRIA, Nancy with Dr. Emmanuel Vincent and Dr. Irina Illina. I recieved my undergraduate degree in Computer Science from BITS, Pilani (Hyderabad Campus) in 2016.
