个人简介
I’m an Associate Professor in the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Nottingham, working in the Centre for Astronomy and Particle Theory. I teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses, supervise PhD students, and work on various research projects with the aim of improving our understanding of galaxies.
Galaxies are huge collections of stars, gas, dust and dark matter, scattered throughout the universe. They display a wide diversity in their properties, such as size, brightness, shape and colour. These properties can tell us the history of how galaxies formed and evolved over time, so we can answer questions such as: when were their stars created, why have some stopped forming stars, and how often have they interacted and merged with one another? Our eventual aim is to understand all of the processes that go into forming the diverse population of galaxies.
